Christmastime is a time of wonder and family togetherness, of sharing and giving selflessly and to some spirit-filled people it is the birth of Jesus Christ. Over the years some great classic children’s movies have featured the story of Christmas, or plots that revolve around the spirit of giving, and helping out others during the holidays. All of the classic movies revolve around the most wonderful time of the year.
It’s no secret that movies and popcorn are the perfect pair, but the beauty of at-home screenings is the variety of other healthy snacks to munch on as well! My family loves holiday snacking that also comes free of the guilt! The holiday time is that cherished moment when we put on our pajamas, robes, and cozy socks to settle in for a great movie night! My children simply adore watching movies and eating snacks together as a family. As a mom, I tend to sideline my own viewing pleasures and prioritize my kids, spouse, and family-time to watch movies that are educational, kid-friendly, memorable, life-changing fun! Having a simply amazing movie-night-in motivates my family to create new family traditions that goes way beyond the normal Christmas break shenanigans during the year.
We make it a point to focus on each other, to communicate, laugh, and love, and to use everyday that God gives us to make memories that last a lifetime. Sweets are so hard to stay away from, it is important to snack on fruit and leave the Sour Patch Kids and Swedish fish in the leftover Halloween candy haul during movie night. However, it is fine to splurge on one piece of candy afterward to satisfy any sweet craving to keep it healthy for everyone. The best thing is to brush your teeth after all the snacking and movie watching with the little kingdom. These movies and fun snack recipe is sure to be a hit with you and your family!
