So much has happened in the last several weeks since I decided to drink more water everyday. On this exhausting run through the month of January after so many thought-provoking changes going on in the world. My heart is filled with so much ambition, hope, and at times a little bit of stress towards accomplishing my goals this year. Another thing putting major pressure right on my heels, is to really reach my full potential and to not just talk about it, but to be about it. I am struggling with starting off the New Year as a better person. By making my goals beyond doable, and being content with life as I see it today!
However, that in itself comes with a great deal of responsibility, and to become more intentional with small things in my life-like drinking more water instead of a quick fix of coffee to start my day! I simply adore getting my little caffeine buzz in the morning, but water is essential for life, so I have to drink more if it! I’ve been alive long enough to know that whatever small goal that I plan to achieve, it should be small enough, and realistic enough so it will not be put on the back burner of my huge life to-do list, with an enormous amount of guilt by March.
So this year, I am doing things in a more intentional way, by focusing on my big goals, and at the same time the small achievable ones. A slight shift of attitude, a little life change with healthy lifestyle habits, and discovering genuine happiness, and not allowing things to overtake me.
I am starting this year, setting myself up for success and not failure. My first small achievable goal is to drink more water everyday.
5 easy ways to drink more water everyday
1. Have a glass of water first thing in the morning:
Before you do anything start your morning with a fresh glass of water. Keep it on the nightstand or close to the bed. Keep a jug of water near your desk in your office, and store a special cute water bottle in the refrigerator.
2. The Water band trick:
We all know we should drink more water. This water band trick makes doing so very easy! Slip five rubber bands on your wrist every morning. Each rubber band represents a 16-ounce glass of water. For every glass of water you drink, remove one of the rubber bands until you have gone through all five.
3. Water App:
A water app that you have on your phone for example My water App for (iPhone) sends reminders to drink water and to track your intake.
4. Infused fruits:
Infused fruits are very popular to add into your favorite glass of water and sometimes veggies. You can use an assortment of fruits such as lemons, limes, and fresh mint!
5. Join a water challenge:
You can join several water challenges online that will encourage you to keep track of your water intake and for how many days to start and complete the challenge.
