“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” — Oprah Winfrey
Have you ever thought that God gives you exactly what you ask HIM for or what you pray for? It is just up to you how you handle the blessings once you receive them, and not to complain about them, but to receive them with grace and mercy and to work with what you have, whether you manifested them on a vision board, wrote them down, or just prayed for changes in your life, because HE will never give you more than you can handle, and HE will continue to supply all of your needs, just think about it and look around you, you will be surprised how many prayers have already been answered, your eyes were just not open to see them!
Trust and most certainly believe, that I am still (literally) living off of the prayers of my mother, grandmother, aunts, best friends, spiritual mothers and fathers, God-Mothers, and anyone from my church family that has taken the time to break bread and share in the holy spirit as a prayer partner. I believe in the power of gratitude and being thankful even when times may seem difficult, and when those life-happening peaks and valleys emerge without any notice, or troubles that arrive at my doorstep without a return address to sender.
And Girl, I think that is the time when I should thank God for so much more, when questions go unanswered, and seasons of change seem to happen uncontrollably in every aspect of my life. This is where faith is being tested, this is where growing in HIM is no longer an option, but a major possibility to maintain spiritual balance at all costs.
I am more than confident in knowing that nothing is impossible for God, and all things are possible by holding on to my faith each and everyday! God will show up and show out when I least expect it, with so many blessings that I can’t even stand it. Listen, this week after having a power-packed discussion with one of my mentors. We almost closed the conversation with a quote from T.D. Jakes- You don’t quit, you get better!
Now I have more reason to be thankful for what I have, and to work with the heavenly tools that God has placed in my tool box, and to never quit, and only get better in the process of walking in faith, living in purpose, and being obedient to HIS word.
The goal is to consistently take action, and put God’s word into practice to complete divine assignments, and divine appointments while remaining joyful!
This is my morning mantra that I share on social media every God-given morning:
Thank you God and your beloved son Jesus for waking me up this morning with a sound mind, healthy body, and a joyful and willing spirit. I give abundant thanks for eyes to see, ears to hear the word of God, legs to walk, hands to work, a voice to speak, roof over my head, clothes on my back, and a heart to love all of those that around me unconditionally and without fail! God I give you all the glory to be thankful for what I have until I am able to get what I want for everlasting life, and life everlasting!
