Georgia’s bravery reminds us that it’s never too late to become the person you want to be, and that taking chances, with your life and your heart, are always worthwhile.
Big-hearted, genuine, and universal, I Almost Forgot About You shows what can happen when you face your fears, take a chance, and open yourself up to life, love, and the possibility of a new direction. It’s everything you’ve always loved about Terry McMillan.
About the Author
Terry McMillan is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Waiting to Exhale, A Day Late and a Dollar Short, and The Interruption of Everything and the editor of Breaking Ice: An Anthology of Contemporary African-American Fiction.
I have been a huge fan of Terry McMillan since reading Waiting to Exhale in college. Her novels have always had a way of telling the uncensored truth and capturing the true struggle and identity of the African-American woman. She has a special way of discussing her friends, family, lovers, and oneself. The warmth, wisdom, laughter, and faithfulness that I expected from Terry McMillan is proven in this novel. I could relate to Georgia in so many different ways, and I wish that she wasn’t fictional so that I could find her and really have a sister friend conversation about getting out of the ruts of life. This story is about reinvention and acceptance, told in McMillan’s quintessential voice, that captures the laugh-aloud moments in each page of this epic book!
