The curated closet is a wardrobe that’s perfectly tailored to your unique personal style and your life. It contains everything you need to feel confident and inspired everyday-no more and no less. It is not based on trends, style topologies, or a cookie-cutter list of “wardrobe essentials.”Your life isn’t cookie cutter, so why should your closet be? I know that when I chose this book for my next review that it had to be something very useful to my lifestyle. My closet is jam-packed with clothes from my sophomore year in college, maternity, to work out clothes, and so much more! I have realized that my closet is in need of a serious overhaul. I discovered that I have never truly taken the time to figure how I wanted to dress, and what type of clothes would work for my life. I didn’t have a strategy. I bought clothes that were on sale or on impulse and often based on other people’s opinions including the sales lady before making an epic purchase. This left me with a full closet of random pieces that did not feel my spirit with joy! I always felt that if I had more it meant that I had an awesome wardrobe. However, more just means more and that’s it. I rarely enjoy following the latest trends, but I do enjoy rocking my own signature looks, and adding some ethnic elements to my closet, with some modern day accessories or some fun thrifted items.
In a world inundated with fast fashion and rapidly changing trends. It’s easy for our closets to become a haven for misguided purchases. Anuschka’s The Curated Closet is a smart straight forward manual that I will have in my personal library for years. I utilize it as my own personal style guide to encourage and discover what I like and to develop a wardrobe that makes getting dressed easier. Anuschka’s book should be required reading for any woman who stares into her closet and feels overwhelmed by the style choices, lack of personal style, or transitioning into a new career or out of motherhood. I received this book for this review from Blogging for Books.
