Yaaaas! The aroma and comfort food that fills my home from November-December. I think that the smell of home cooked food and baked goods is unlike that of any other time of the year and heightens the joy for the approaching holidays.Thinking about the abundant happiness that my children will have in store to create lifetime memories just pulls on my heart strings, and motivates me to WOW! my little kingdom, and give them the best of the holiday season! I want my young family to embrace every moment of the holidays, and to feel really blessed and thankful for all the Godly gifts from the work of their mother’s own hands.
I was born in Bridgeport, Michigan, where my parents centered everything around cooking, eating, and dining with family and friends. The nearest family members would drive over to our house to celebrate every holiday with us each year. I learned the true meaning of cooking and baking at a very young age.
Although, I could not touch the oven, but only watch for many years, until finally being allowed to graduate from the mixing bowl to the oven top. That love of cooking has extended since becoming a mother into my own home life, particularly for the holidays.
Once autumn, really arrived I felt a sense of excitement, with fewer daylight hours, inside activities, hibernation season, and baking is top on my priority list.
Come winter, nighttime comes early, and baking is the perfect opportunity to show gratitude to my little kingdom with cakes, cookies, and buns.
This book Holiday Cookies Show-stopping Recipes to Sweeten the season is the best baking tool that is jam packed with fifty recipes, each beautifully photographed as I turned every delicious page.A lot of baking is done end of November and early December, when breads, cakes, cookies, and confections warm the hearts of everyone in my growing family.
One of my favorite celebrations is Christmas! I simply love the idea of having the time to pass on traditional and non-traditional cooking methods to the next generation of bakers and cookie lovers. Girl, the fun thing is this season, I am participating in a holiday cookie hop with other bloggers this year. I am super stokeed to share some of these massive gems from this recipe book during the hop.
I have never participated before, so I am taking a leap of faith and praying that my cookies become an edible masterpiece, or at least edible and tasty in the baking process. I am super excited that this wonderful book is like no other from Minty Sprits Cookies, to Red-and-White Meringue Kisses, to Apple Cider Caramels, and a variety of international cookie recipes. I would highly recommend this awesome book to both the seasoned and novice baker for the holidays. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
