After a busy summer of spending time at the pool, summer vacations, and creating summer memories that will last a lifetime. Some of my household chores have been neglected or put on the back burner this summer. That doesn’t make me feel any less of mom because I had the opportunity to spend special time with Mandi and Maliah. Now that summer has gone by so quickly, and the children are back in school it includes getting back into my cleaning routine! When I think about preparing for Back to school not only do I think about back to school lunches, shopping, and getting back on our morning schedule. I think about deep cleaning my home. Back to school is the perfect time to begin my deep cleaning routine. It is that special time of year for me to begin my fall mommy cleaning rituals. With my children spending more time outside of the house, I am finding it easier to tackle deep cleaning chores and to tap into this trend, O-Cedar is launching the #O-CedarB2S campaign for parents to share their favorite back to school cleaning routines and tips on social media.
After finding 61% of moms deep clean the home when kids are in school, the leading household brand launches campaign to support families’ fall cleaning routines. I am honored to be a part of this amazing campaign. I believe that all parents should have access to resources necessary to maintain a clean home. Through O-Cedar’s donation, they will be able to help ease the burden of cleaning for more cancer patients through their professional housecleaning services.
I find that Back to School is the perfect time for me to begin my purging, deep cleaning, and getting organized for the fall season. I tend to clean my children’s rooms by cleaning out their clothes closets, doing laundry, and purging and giving away clothes that do not fit them as I transition from summer to Fall.
I especially enjoy cleaning the kitchen floors. O-Cedar is awesome for hardwood floors to remove and absorb dirt and grime in all the hard to reach places that I might have missed over the summer!
The features of the O-Cedar easy wring make it so much easier for all of my mopping needs. The foot pedal is hands free wringing without bending; controls water and release. The splash guard keeps splash and spray in the easy to use bucket. The triangular design reaches and cleans deep into corners. The pivoting head cleans under furniture. For all hard floors it is ideal for wood, tile, laminate, marble, and linoleum. The Easy Wring foot pedal controls water release push down once for damp mop and twice for more of a dry release. The Easy Wring Mop is a wonderful addition to my cleaning routine.
Back to School Cleaning Routines and 5 easy tips:
1. Set a Date: Mark the day on your calendar, planner, or set a timer on your cell phone that you are going to do your back to school cleaning. This should be a date where you are totally focused on cleaning your home. A day where you do not have to go grocery shopping, run errands, and hubby and children are not in the home.
I think between the first week and second week of school are the best times to set a date!
2. Create a strategy: Creating a strategy for each room of your home. If you are planning to tackle the kitchen and bathrooms first, or bedrooms and living rooms in your home?
I think that writing a list to execute a strategic plan is important for back to school deep cleaning purposes. I remove all my children’s toys, clean out my refrigerator, and move all of my furniture to really vacuum behind and under all furniture.
I clean all the hardwood floors, I open all the windows and clean in the window seals and clean all the windows inside and out, clean mirrors, ceiling fans and intake vents. I clean all the base-boards in my whole house. Finally I deep clean all of the bathrooms and mop all of my floors. I love to see my floors sparkle and shine! I love the fresh clean house smell!
3. Collect your supplies: It is important to have a fresh stock of cleaning supplies. Be sure that you have all the cleaning supplies that you need to make the most of your back to school cleaning day! I always keep paper towels and trash bags within my reach! When it comes to mopping I am a new convert to Easy Wring Spin Mop and Bucket System.
The super awesome features of the mopping system help to assist with all of my cleaning needs, especially with a curious three-year old daughter who helps out with all the cleaning chores. The spinning action and easy-to-use pedal will make cleaning more fun! It provides a deep cleaning experience with no more tedious wringing out of the mop.
4. Play your favorite music: I love to deep clean my home playing some of my favorite songs from Pandora. I think that music is the key to make your cleaning day more easier and much more fun! I love to hear some great gospel, hip hop, reggae, and old school R&B tracks! Create a playlist and have a dance party while you clean. If you are having a blast while cleaning you will enjoy it so much more knowing that you are making a difference for you and your family!
Be sure to stay hydrated, I love to drink vitamin water during my cleaning routine. This is a great way to get your house ready for Fall.
5: Have a blast: I think that it is important to have a blast while you are cleaning your home. Clean your home in time blocks, and depending on the size of your home you may need help from your children to encourage them to learn about chores and responsibility in the home.
