Mother of the World.net is beyond thrilled to have a little summertime sister-friend chat with the multi-talented Keyonda Pyles the creator of A Real Urban Mom.com! Mother of the World first met up with this self-proclaimed socialite, wife, mom, and blogger at a Blogalicious conference in Atlanta, GA.
Where blogging history was absolutely made, during that most revolutionary blogging conference! The priceless nuggets that were dropped during that weekend, and the relationships that were built, have led to this memorable interview with the passionate Keyonda Pyles.
The positive energy shared from that glorious day, and divine appointment given by God, has brought two like-minded empowered women together on Instagram as IG Sistas, spilling all the tea, and supporting each other’s traveling endeavors, sharing DIY recipes, all things that are self-care, raising a growing family, and ongoing blogging business. Mother of the World is simply delighted to have Keyonda Pyles as the June featured blogger, to share her blogging journey, answer thought-provoking questions, and really go behind the scenes of what it truly means to be a professional blogger, and to discover what are her amazing plans for the future, not only as a blogger but as a woman in general. Mother of the World.net is so grateful for this heartfelt conversation to share with all of my beloved readers this very hot summer.
Keyonda Pyles is a 30 something mom, wife, blogger, self-proclaimed socialite, advocate for literacy, and vision consultant. Her love as an avid reader lead her to a career as a published Freelance Journalist. After college Keyonda started sharing her daily life of being a mom and a wife on Social Media and began getting questions. Moms wanted to know about the coolest place for a family outing to even where she shops for shoes! Realizing that she was an influencer Keyonda birthed an online blog. Arealurbanmom.com was created to answer all of those questions and more while sharing her life with the world.
ArealUrbanMom.com is a Lifestyle Mommy blog that covers motherhood, marriage, fashion/beauty, food, travel and family fun. ARUM is a one stop shop for the wife looking for “date night” ideas to the mom searching the perfect venue for their kid’s birthday party or the diva looking for the perfect shade of lipstick. ARUM is for real moms, wives, and women wanting to balance it all.
MW: Why are you blogging? How long have you been blogging?
KP: I enjoy sharing my life with my readers. It’s started as a way to answer questions but now it’s definitely therapy for me. I’ve been blogging seriously for about 5 years. Professionally 3 years.
MW: How do you plan on improving your blog in the next 6 months?
KP: Great question! Working on consistency and pushing the limits on blogging by incorporating Vlogging.
MW: What challenges have you faced good or bad since you started your blogging career?
KP: Missed deadlines, rejected pitches, & self-doubt. A lot is from me not being prepared and being 100% once I changed my approach the blog changed for the better.
MW: What advice would you give to a new blogger?
KP: Do it right the first time and you won’t have to re-do it and that goes for everything. Your post, site, domain name, logo, and anything else you can think of.
MW: How do you find work/life balance as a devoted mother, loving wife, and hard-working blogger?
KP: It’s tough but it can be done. Balance is so important to me and I feel like it’s needed to have a successful lifestyle. It starts with yourself and prioritizing what goes first and last. Everything can’t and won’t get done. Don’t beat yourself up about it. I also say schedule some “self care” time in your calendar because you can’t pour from an empty cup…make sure you are being filled.
MW: Where do you get your inspiration?
KP: Every. Where. Seriously inspiration can come from a conversation, art work, person, or some word from God. So many outlets and ways to get inspired.
MW: What is one thing that you would change about your blog?
KP: I am currently figuring out what format I want for the blog, and which graphic designer I am going to have re-do it the way I vision it. Similar to a magazine style.
MW: Who do you have in your life that support you?
KP: My husband and children are so supportive it’s funny they know when I have a deadline that is due, and I need quiet time. My mom and sisters are pretty amazing with supporting and helping with keep the kids for events etc. and my host of friends are just so dope!
MW: Is this a passion?
KP: I’m very passionate about people being able to share their voice and share their story. My way happens to be through a blog, blog posts, and social media it’s something I hold near and dear to my heart.
MW: What one word would describe you for 2018?
KP: Growing – I don’t want to just grow as a blogger but also as a mom, wife, and woman in general.
