The thing that makes my heart sing is doing life with my little kingdom. I believe that sharing life experiences with my beloved children is so crucial for their growth, creating lifetime memories, and simply having a blast! I remember growing up as a child that my mother would take my sister and I out to eat every weekend.
We would go to a special resturant called Ponderosa. This had to be my mother’s favorite place to dine in the world. She loved it because a salad bar came with every food order. My mother would always order a ribeye steak well-done, with a fully loaded baked potato, and the infamous salad bar. My sister and I would order cheeseburgers, French fries, and an orange pop,
I mean we had our orders down to a science. We could not wait to go to Ponderosa, and spend time with good food and fun! These are the types of memories that I love to create with my own children. I believe that some of the happiest days in life are centered around good food.
My favorite times are when we are able to “break bread,” and indulge in meals that do not necessarily break the family budget, while enjoying quality time as a family. We had the awesome opportunity this past weekend to head over to Applebee’s for lunch.
My children love Applebee’s so it was basically a “no brainer” that we would have the time of our life. When we walked through the doors after fighting the rain, we were super hungry, and ready to eat everything on the menu. I prefer cooking healthy meals at home, but being able to eat out on the weekends is definitely a treat! We had the best service in the world! My little Prince said after he received his meal “Mom this place should get five stars!”
How can you really beat a five star meal at any restaurant? My little princess enjoyed everything from the appetizer to her main entrée. The fabulous food arrived to our table very hot and super flavorful! We were actually a little silent for the first ten minutes of the meal, that was a clear indication that things were working out for the little kingdom.
We started our fantastic meal with an appetizer. I chose onion rings that we all shared before receiving our main entrée. I thought that onion rings would be something different for my children, instead of ordering French fries. My little kingdom really loved the onion rings! They were so super crunchy, yummy, and delicious!
Last but certainly not least, I had the Bourbon chicken and shrimp! This meal gave me so much life! I love shrimp and on that day I just had to have it!
We have decided that we should have family lunch dates at least once a month. The moments that I am honored to share with my little kingdom are priceless.
